September 1918

Gatsby, where are you? It has been months since your departure to the war and yet I have heard nothing from you. Every day I wake up early, worried that you may have been killed, hurt, or captured. The war is about to end, however. I am beginning to grow impatient and have had to find a job that supports me. I will be awaiting your return or letter explaining when you will return.

  1. Gatsby: I will return soon. They want us to go to Oxford. Have faith!
